I was expecting glass, not plastic, but they are very pretty. I have two other types of feeders, but the pink jewel is the hummingbird's favorite. My only complaints are that the design of the cap and string is flimsy. The plastic pieces on the pink one broke the second time I cleaned it. And, it is a challenge to get them to hang straight. But, as I said, the birds like them, the pink one anyway.
