Effective deterrent, weak weapon. After getting punched in the face during a typical work day I decided I would purchase this item because of the compact size and low price. As a deterrent/scare factor this baby can be very effective. The bright blue spark and loud snapping noise can be seen and heard from great distances and has a tendency to make most people instinctively cringe and jump away, enough to give any would be stacker second thoughts.
