We deliberately make the fabric of the cot tight. This is because after a couple of uses the material will stretch. By making it tight to begin with it will not sag significantly when it stretches. You can try the following procedure to insert the end bar. You will only need to this for the first 2-3 uses.

- For the second end bar, put one side on first, then please stand up the cot, and jam on one side of the first end bar which was put on at step 1 with your leg, then prop up the other side of the second end.

I am big guy, weighing in at 270, and I was a little hesitant about an aluminum cot holding me.
It held me, with no problem, and was actually very comfortable. My wife and daughter liked them also, at first they were not sure about a cot. I would recommend them to anyone, who like me, doesn't like sleeping on the ground! I liked the storage for my glasses, flashlight, and other gear in the carrying case after attaching it to the cot. It was attached with the heavy duty Velcro, that closed the carrying bag. Very handy!

Well made, large, light and tough. Clever case that also hangs from the cot as an accessory pocket. Takes a strong hand and a bit of technique to stretch and assemble the last corner of the cot. Bought several and added 4" foam mattresses. They provided a good nights sleep and a good place to sit and talk.
