This is the type of finch feeder we had when I was a kid. The new ones on the market with the double access device for either finch or regular seed are awful. The seed molds quite easily and they are impossible to clean without breaking. While this feeder is double the price, I know it will last for a very long time with very little maintenance.

The Droll Yankees feeder is a quality product.It is the best finch feeder you can buy. It holds a good amount of thistle seed and keeps it nice and dry. It is nicely designed so that the seeds aren't wasted by spilling from the feeder or settling below the lowest port, where the birds can't get them. Easy to refill and not too hard to clean. All around....a great product.

This is very good, but could be better.
The parts are excellent quality, built for a lifetime. Unlike copper tops, the stainless steel top works smoothly and the feeder is easy to fill.
It would be nice to have three or four feeding stations on each level. Goldfinches are small and social. I'm sure they wouldn't mind the company. As it is, most members of even a small flock spend too much time waiting for a feeding spot.
So, I'd recommend this feeder, but Droll Yankees should get the details.
