I had read about this in a magazine and thought I would give it a try. I just LOVE IT! We have had 50+ inches of snow this winter and my feathered friends now have clean water to drink right at my window! Since the first day we put this in, I have had birds drinking from it. On really cold days, some just sit on the rim to help stay warm. The cord on this is VERY short (too short in my opinion)so be wise on where you plan to put it. I was able to put it only feet away from my feeders, so all the birds now know it's there. I also make sure I change the water everyday since on below 0 days, the water will freeze. I wish I would have known about this item years ago. I am very pleased and would recommend it to anyone who loves to have birds all year.

This works as advertised and looks good too. Instead of mounting it directly on our porch railing, we attached it to the end of a 2x4 so that we could use it just during the winter and store it during the summer when we have other water available for the birds. We used bungie cords to attach it to a post on our porch and the birds came for a drink almost every day. However, the water does evaporate after a couple days if you don't keep it filled.
